Members had a Wonderful Time at RCIC Club’s 15th Private Conference + 2nd AGM held in Winnipeg, Manitoba

On 10-11 June 2023, Manitoba Prairie witnessed the vibrant gathering of the Canadian Immigration Consultants Club (RCIC Club)’s 15th Private Conference + 2nd AGM in Winnipeg. This highly anticipated event is set amidst the blooming flowers and gentle ripples of spring water, members came together to engage in valuable communication and shared learning experiences.

On the morning of Saturday, June 10, 2023, participants convened at the renowned 110-year-old Fort Garry Hotel for a delightful morning tea party. This provided an excellent opportunity for consultants from across Canada to get acquainted and forge new connections. Following the gathering, everyone visited the Canadian Museum of Human Rights, where they gained deeper insights into the historical discrimination faced by early Chinese laborers in Canada and the harrowing persecution endured by Jews in Nazi Germany. Post-lunch, the Club arranged a visit to MTA, a local incubator company in Winnipeg. Mr. Marshall Lynn, CEO of MTA, personally introduced the requirements and process of the SUV immigration project to the attendees and led them on a tour of several enterprises currently incubated by MTA.

Sunday, June 11, 2023, marked a full day dedicated to a conference and the Club’s 2nd AGM titled Navigating Immigration Policy Changes: Strategies for Enhancing Professional Capabilities.  Ms. Lily Lee, chair of the Club, delivered an opening speech that resonated with the attendees, earning her warm applause. Her words, “We may be on different ships, but we are in the same boat now,” set an inspiring tone. Subsequently, Mr. Zhang Xueyong and Mr. Wang Bing, vice-chairs of the club, delivered welcoming speeches to the guests and members, both attending online and in person respectively. Esteemed guest speakers, Mr. Marc Lijiu, Vice President of the Information and Communication Technology Committee (ICTC), and Mr. Antonio Mendezona Villari, the club’s legal counsel, shared valuable insights and experiences with the participants. Mr. Jacky Zhang, RCIC and committee member of our Club, brought together his expertise in software engineering and immigration consulting, demonstrated the use of AI technology in immigration consulting. 

At 2 p.m., we had the honor of meeting Mr. Jon Reyes, the Minister of Labor and Immigration for Manitoba, and were treated to a speech by Ms. Belinda Loschiavo, Global Vice President of Robertson College. Engaging discussions with Minister Jon Reyes deepened the attendees’ understanding of Manitoba’s immigration policies, educational opportunities, and skills training. Ms. Belinda introduced Robertson College’s educational programs and opportunities, exploring potential partnerships between the academy and the club.

This weekend event series provided a rich and diverse experience for our members. We will remain dedicated to providing more opportunities and resources for RCICs, promoting professional development, and improving the service quality of immigration consultants. These events serve the purpose of strengthening cooperation and partnerships within the industry, ultimately enhancing the services provided to members and immigrant clients alike.
