How we do it

CPU is not an insurance company but a mutual protection organization where members share costs, risks, and benefits. We assist members with legal and regulatory matters related to immigration consulting services, while upholding the dignity of the profession and industry as well as the honor of immigration consultants.

Our CPU team consists of seasoned legal advisors, peer consultants, emotional support specialists, and customer service representatives, all united in their commitment to providing top-tier assistance.

We offer educational materials and tools to guide consultants and clients through the complexities of immigration laws, policies, and best practices, drawing on the collective insights of the HELP LINE, RCIC Peer Advisory Board, and LEGAL DEPARTMENT.

We feature case studies and success stories that demonstrate the effectiveness of CPU’s integrated services in addressing the challenges faced by our members.

The CPU actively seeks feedback from advisors and clients to continuously refine and enhance our services.

All CPU services are designed to adhere to industry standards and legal regulations, ensuring transparent service terms and conditions for our members.

Our integrated online platform facilitates easy access to services, consultation submissions, and progress tracking for advisors and clients.

The CPU is committed to ongoing development to keep pace with the changing immigration law landscape and the evolving needs of our clients.

Burnout among RCICs is increasingly common under strict regulatory conditions, which poses pressure on the sustainability of Canadian immigration consulting. Supporting the well-being of RCICs is a shared responsibility among RCIC leaders, educational institutions, associations, regulatory bodies (colleges), and governments.

Canadian Tort Law and the CPU Project

Canadian Tort Law deals with the handling of tortious conduct within Canada’s jurisdiction (excluding Quebec). The CPU Project utilizes this legal framework to ensure that immigration consultants receive legal protection and remedies when they suffer unlawful acts by others, such as physical, mental, or financial losses. We educate our members on the fundamental principles of tort law to ensure they can protect their own rights and those of their clients while providing services.
