SUMMARY:RCIC Club and CAPIC Sign Historic MOU: A New Era of Unity\, Advocacy\, and Professional Growth in Immigration Consulting
DESCRIPTION:The Canadian Immigration Consultants Club (RCIC Club) is proud to announce the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants (CAPIC)—a defining step forward in unifying the voices of immigration consultants across Canada and elevating the profession through collective action. \n\n\n\nSigned on September 24\, 2025\, this MOU brings together the leadership of both organizations. Representing RCIC Club were Lily Lee (Chair)\, Peter Tat-Mun Lam (Chief Advisor)\, and Ruby Cheang(Secretary)\, while CAPIC was represented by Prateek Babbar (Chair)\, Dory Jade (CEO)\, and Gerd Damitz (Ambassador). \n\n\n\nStrengthening the Profession: Recognition and Advocacy \n\n\n\nAt the heart of this agreement is a shared commitment to protecting the integrity of the profession—most notably through coordinated efforts to combat Unauthorized Practitioners (UAPs). Under the MOU: \n\n\n\nRCIC Club will provide CAPIC with credible\, evidence-based reports on UAPs. \n\n\n\nCAPIC will formally present these concerns to the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC). \n\n\n\nRegular updates will be provided to ensure transparency and accountability. \n\n\n\nUAP issues will become a permanent item in bi-annual CAPIC–CICC meetings. \n\n\n\nThese actions will lead to stronger safeguards for the public and the profession\, while positioning RCIC Club as a serious stakeholder in industry-wide reform. \n\n\n\nRepresentation That Reflects Canada’s Diversity \n\n\n\nThis MOU also paves the way for inclusive and structured lobbying\, ensuring that the concerns of diverse\, community-based\, and special interest RCIC groups are brought to the attention of policymakers. \n\n\n\nRCIC Club can now submit lobbying topics to CAPIC for inclusion in formal consultations with Immigration\, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). \n\n\n\nCAPIC will communicate selected topics to IRCC\, and share feedback with the Club. \n\n\n\nThis process amplifies the voice of our members and ensures their issues are discussed at the highest levels. \n\n\n\nProfessional Development Through Mentorship \n\n\n\nRCIC Club members who also hold CAPIC membership will gain automatic access to CAPIC’s IMMeMentor Program—a structured mentorship platform that: \n\n\n\nPairs consultants with experienced RCIC mentors; \n\n\n\nProvides hands-on support on real case files; \n\n\n\nEncourages knowledge sharing and professional growth; \n\n\n\nPromotes ethical standards and regulatory compliance. \n\n\n\nThis is a unique opportunity for our members to enhance their skills\, gain confidence\, and build lasting professional networks—all within a compliant and professionally supported framework. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExclusive Benefits for RCIC Club Members \n\n\n\nAs part of the collaboration\, CAPIC will offer a discounted first-year membership fee to RCIC Club members during biannual outreach campaigns. This exclusive benefit makes it easier than ever for consultants to access national-level support\, while strengthening our Club’s value proposition. \n\n\n\nWe invite all Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) to join RCIC Club and become part of a movement that is shaping the future of our profession. Through this MOU\, we are offering more than just benefits—we are offering representation\, visibility\, and a unified voice. \n\n\n\nElevating the Profession—Together \n\n\n\nThis collaboration between RCIC Club and CAPIC reflects a growing alignment within the immigration consulting profession—one rooted in shared values of accountability\, professionalism\, and public trust. \n\n\n\nBy creating formal channels for advocacy\, mentorship\, and inclusive representation\, this MOU positions both organizations to play a more constructive role in shaping Canada’s immigration landscape—one that is responsive to evolving community needs\, policy realities\, and ethical imperatives. \n\n\n\nAs RCIC Club continues to grow in both size and stature\, it stands ready to engage with partners across sectors—from public institutions to community organizations and industry leaders—who share a vision for a fair\, effective\, and well-regulated immigration system in Canada.
